There are several great locations in Queens that you can visit for your Prom Photography. Several parks in Queens that work perfectly for prom photography or any type of photoshoot include:

Flushing Meadows Park

Kissena Park

Forest Hills Park

Long Island City Piers

When deciding which park you will want to have your prom photos taken, it really is going to be a good idea if you can have a brief discussion about it with your photographer. This way you can go over the logistics of the start time and location of your prom event. Some things that you will want to consider when planning your prom photoshoot is the distance of your event from the location that you will want to have your photos taken and the time that your event starts. In addition to the distance, you will also need to factor additional time for any traffic especially if your prom is being held during the week. Therefore, it is usually wise to allow for additional time for this.

If you are interested in having your prom photography taken right before you take off for your prom event than I suggest that you get in touch as soon as possible since May & June are busy months for events that also include communions, graduations, weddings, birthday parties, Mother’s Day, etc. Everyone has an event that they want captured! In addition everyone in general just wants to schedule an outdoor photoshoot since the weather is so nice.

Central Park Maternity Photos – NYC Maternity Photographer

It was a beautiful June day in NYC for Vanessa’s Central Park Maternity photos session.   Vanessa contacted me weeks ago about having her maternity photos taken in NYC once she knew that she and her husband would be visiting the Big Apple.  She chose Central Park for her maternity session because of it’s diversity and I couldn’t agree more with her choice.  Central Park truly does offer so much diversity and it is so picturesque.  From buildings, to trees, to bridges, the lake, the rocks and the beautiful architecture at Bethesda Terrace there really is something for everyone.  It is a beautiful park to visit during any season.  We started her maternity photos  by one of my favorite spots near the lake and then walked over to the Terrace by the stairs, the mall and underneath the Terrace taking advantage of the beautiful light in the tunnel.

Below are some of my favorite photos from the session.  Congratulations again to Vanessa and Gerry on your new bundle of joy!

NYC Wedding Photographer/Renewal of Vows

NYC Wedding Photographer/Renewal of Vows

I had the privilege and honor of capturing this couple’s wedding last November at Villa Russo in NYC.   It was a special wedding for this couple since they were renewing their wedding vows.  Since they never had a traditional wedding that included all the bells and whistles when they married years ago, they wanted to  have this wedding be the wedding that they never had, which included a wedding reception, photographer, dj, flowers, wedding cake, bridal party and all the traditional highlights that usually occur at a wedding such as first dance, cake eating, bouquet and garter toss.  I don’t see many bridal and garter tosses at wedding receptions nowadays but theirs was special because it had a bit of a twist.  Instead of having the gentleman that caught the garter put the garter on the lady that caught the bouquet, the person that caught the garter had to put the garter on his wife and that couple would have to renew their vows within the next year!  I think that this idea was awesome.  Not only was it a creative twist but it is so special to see couples who have been married 20 years or more renewing their vows again.  It is such a special way of reaffirming the love that a couple has for one another and reminding yourselves what you promised all those years ago to each other.   And there are many ways that you can reaffirm your vows.  Here are some good ideas and tips on wedding vow renewal.  What do you think?   If you are married, have you considered or would you consider renewing your vows again?

God Bless this couple.  I hope that they will have many more wonderful years together.

Here are some highlights from their wedding:

CAROL GALVIN FOUNDATION/DRINK TO PINK

On May 15th, on top of a rooftop lounge at the Gansevoort Park Hotel in NYC, I had the opportunity to capture some  images for a special event.  The event was emceed by Lucy Norris of  “On Deck with Lucy Norris”.   Rick Galvin, talent manager of CG Talent Management and founder of the Carol Galvin Foundation hosted a fundraiser to benefit  two mothers fighting breast cancer.  Rick started the Carol Galvin Foundation in honor of his mother whom he lost to cancer when he was 11 yrs old.  The foundation benefits women that are fighting cancer.   Many special guests gathered  together that evening to be a part of  this great cause.  Amongst them was talented singer and anti-bullying activist  and advocate Meredith O’Connor.  The rising music sensation performed her new single, Just the Thing which is currently available for download on Itunes.  Meredith is gratiously donating 75% of all the proceeds  from the sale of her single to the Carol Galvin Foundation.  You can download her new single  by clicking here.    Later that evening she performed a duet with music artist D Gray Grayson.  Saboroma Couture sponsored the event, of which 100% of the proceeds went to two special mothers that are fighting cancer;  Cathy Marino and Diana Polanco.  Later that evening, Saboroma treated guests to  a fashion show that featured Victoria Secrets model Terese Pagh.  The fashion show showcased some of Saboroma’s latest collection of beautiful evening gowns and cocktail dresses.

Featured below is a collage of images from the event including some of  the red carpet arrivals, Meredith’s performances, Saboroma’s Fashion Show and the thank you speeches.
