I was so excited as the Brooklyn Wedding Photographer at Rachel & Scott’s Brooklyn Winery Wedding in Williamsburg, NY.  After photographing Rachel & Scott’s engagement photos, I knew that their wedding was going to be a blast.  These two are so joyful and are always laughing.  Their goofiness and love for each other just made photographing them and their loved ones such a pleasure.  It ended up pouring buckets of rain on their wedding day but we all know that a little rain on your wedding day brings good luck.  Fortunately they chose to have their getting ready photos at the  Garden Vale Residence at the William Vale Hotel — a suite with a covered terrace the size of most  apartments in NY.  Despite all the torrential downpours and wind that day, the terrace stayed dry enough for us so that we could stage their first look and have their family and bridal party photos taken.

After that we headed over to the Brooklyn Winery for their wedding ceremony and their reception party. There were plenty of tears and laughter and it was certainly a very emotional day for all.  We captured some great moments from their day, moments that they will look back upon for many years and remember them as if it were yesterday.  Congratulations again Rachel & Scott!  It was such a pleasure capturing this special day for you and your families.  May every married day be as lovely as the first.

Your wedding day is a special day in your life, one in which you have dreamed about for many years and one in which you will look back upon and cherish.   Many months of planning go into your wedding day.  And there are many details of the wedding day that need to be picked which include the flowers, the cake, the decorations, the jewelry, the invitations and of course most importantly, the wedding dress.

Last month I got to be a part of the ModShoot which allowed me to experiment and get creative photos of  the typical wedding day details.  The shoot took place at the Metropolitan Building in Long Island City, NYC, an old building dated back to 1909 that has been transformed as a creative venue for events, weddings, shoots and films.  This certainly was an amazing venue and made for a wonderful backdrop.  I am grateful for the delightful vendors listed below who contributed to this fun, creative and stylized shoot.

I love this beautiful hanger provided by Black Label Decor.  Perfect for hanging your bridal gown.

NYC Wedding Photographer/Renewal of Vows

NYC Wedding Photographer/Renewal of Vows

I had the privilege and honor of capturing this couple’s wedding last November at Villa Russo in NYC.   It was a special wedding for this couple since they were renewing their wedding vows.  Since they never had a traditional wedding that included all the bells and whistles when they married years ago, they wanted to  have this wedding be the wedding that they never had, which included a wedding reception, photographer, dj, flowers, wedding cake, bridal party and all the traditional highlights that usually occur at a wedding such as first dance, cake eating, bouquet and garter toss.  I don’t see many bridal and garter tosses at wedding receptions nowadays but theirs was special because it had a bit of a twist.  Instead of having the gentleman that caught the garter put the garter on the lady that caught the bouquet, the person that caught the garter had to put the garter on his wife and that couple would have to renew their vows within the next year!  I think that this idea was awesome.  Not only was it a creative twist but it is so special to see couples who have been married 20 years or more renewing their vows again.  It is such a special way of reaffirming the love that a couple has for one another and reminding yourselves what you promised all those years ago to each other.   And there are many ways that you can reaffirm your vows.  Here are some good ideas and tips on wedding vow renewal.  What do you think?   If you are married, have you considered or would you consider renewing your vows again?

God Bless this couple.  I hope that they will have many more wonderful years together.

Here are some highlights from their wedding:
