LONG ISLAND ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS/FRANK MELVILLE PARK

I had the opportunity to photograph Jackie & Nick’s engagement photos in beautiful Frank Melville Park in Long Island, NY.  Fall is one of my favorite seasons of the year. I love the cooler weather, the crisp air and the changing colors of the leaves.  It’s such a great time to take family photos and engagement photos.  The colored leaves whether they still are on the trees or if they have fallen to the ground makes for a beautiful backdrop.

Jackie & Nick both met in High School and after 9 years got engaged.   I could not be happier for a more sweeter couple than these two.   Congratulations again Jackie & Nick!

This couple had an amazing wedding day at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Long Island, NY.  It was a special day for them filled with lots of love and emotion as they united as one in front of all their beloved family and friends.  I had the honor to be a part of their special day as I captured these beautiful memories that they will cherish forever.

I absolutely loved that they did a first look or what is also known as “The Reveal”.  A first look or reveal is often done before the ceremony in order for the Bride and Groom to get all the formal pictures done before the Reception.  Quite often there is simply not enough time to take all the formals right after the ceremony as the cocktail hour and reception immediately follows.

Can’t you just feel all their love and emotion.  I absolutely loved the groom’s reaction.

And then the wedding ceremony began.

The toasts on a wedding day certainly have the potential to be some of the most memorable moments of the day.  There are the emotions of laughter and joy as the brides daughter recounts a tale of a typical day in the household.

Then a very heartfelt and emotional groom thanks his family and friends for being a part of his special day followed by a toast to his bride for blessing him with her love.

If you would like to talk about your wedding day feel free to contact me .  I would love to hear from  you! Also feel free to view my website for a complete wedding and engagement portfolio.

One of my favorite weddings of 2015 was the Wedding at the Metropolitan in Glen Cove, NY.   I had the pleasure of photographing this sweet couple’s special day.  They kept their wedding simple and threw a big celebration to celebrate and share this special occassion with their family and friends.  And it certainly was a party!  Everyone had a great time.  I was truly honored to have the opportunity to capture these memories for them.  I wish them all the happiness as they embark on their new life together as husband and wife.

I had the opportunity to do take Diana & Victor’s Long Island Engagement Photos at this beautiful location in Long Island near Manhasset and Roslyn.  There were so many pretty spots and my couple made perfect models.  I captured some traditional poses and then some of what I like to call candid poses.  Let’s discuss candid photos and candid posing in this blog.  What is candid posing?  Well, it is exactly what is sounds like.  Posing that is candid.  LOL.  Now that was a really great definition.  But seriously almost everyone likes getting candid photos captured of themselves because they want to look more natural in the photo rather than stiff and posed, but the thing with candid photos is that sometimes people can look awkward in their candid moments and when they try to pose themselves.  In particular, the pose or stance that they are in at that candid moment may not be very flattering or it can make them look 10 pounds heavier.  Or better yet if they are caught laughing and pull back, they will have a double chin or their mouth wide open (yes that happens all the time…..LOL).   I can assure you that nobody wants a double chin or to look heavier.  Better yet they don’t want to be caught at an awkward moment.  My job as a photographer is to make my subjects look their very best.  Even though some of the candids that I take are genuinely candid, in particular those that I usually keep significant distance away from my subjects, I still tend to pose my couples in a candid yet flattering way and then have one of them say something to the other person hoping to make them laugh naturally.  Basically I set them up in a pose and then tell them what to do, after all my couples are not professional models and they don’t always know what to do and how they look like in my camera.  That is my job as the professional photographer and  why you need a professional to take your photos to assure that you look good.

Here are some of my favorite Long Island Engagement photos from Diana & Victor’s session.
