Long Island Children’s Photographer/Fall Family Sessions

Long Island Children’s Photographer/Fall Family Sessions

Here is one of my favorite fall family sessions of 2014.  I absolutely loved this photo session with Lucas.  Lucas, a typical two year old child was so much fun to capture. He is such a happy go lucky little boy.  He was just all smiles throughout the session despite the chilly day.    He played with the pumpkins and even posed with his mommy and daddy for a few family photos.  I always love to include the parents in the photos, they are usually my favorites.  I love the laughter, the smiles and the little giggles in between the shots.  I know as adults it’s all about capturing our children, but it’s  just as important to exist in these photos as well.  It’a part of your family history and legacy and someday your children will appreciate the fact that you were in the photos with them.  After Lucas finished posing for his photos, he got a lollipop, a well deserved treat for being such a good boy.  :o)   I got a few more shots of him as he started posing for me with his lollipop.

A couple of months ago, I had an opportunity to photograph  a child photo session in Queens, NYC.  It was a warm day in late October and the leaves were already changing colors. I generally like to take fall sessions in late October until mid November.  It usually is the peak of the fall foliage season and the weather is still not too cold for the little ones.   We picked a location near my client’s home  and it was absolutely perfect!  It just goes to show you that sometimes simple locations near your home can have much to offer and that a photo session needs not to get complicated, especially where children are concerned.  Lea, chose many pretty outfits for her session and she wanted to wear them all!  She was quite the little poser as well.  Even though she was a little tired at the start of the session, she started to have some fun and we got some nice pictures.

Here are some of my favorites from the session:

Springtime is here……the birds are chirping and the beautiful flowers have all bloomed.  I especially love the pink flowers on the branches.  Since i also work as a skating coach at Worlds Ice Arena in Flushing Meadows Park, NY  I get to spend lots of time in the park.  One afternoon, I took a walk through the park and found a beautiful spot filled with these flowers  for this children’s photo session.  At first Julia wore a beautiful blue dress, I tried getting some posed shots with her holding the flowers and  smelling them.

And then after taking the posed shots this happened…………….

She then changed into this beautiful pink dress, a stunning compliment with the pink flowers.

And then she became serious…….

We had a great time shooting these beautiful images.  At the end, Julia  got a big hug from her Mommy and went to get some ice cream.

Long Island Children’s Photography/ 6 Month Old Session

I recently got to photograph my friends son’s  6 Month pictures in  New York.  Although all babies are special, baby Cameron is extra special because he was a completely unexpected surprise for his mom and dad, and he was born premature.  But no worries, as you can see from the photos, baby Cameron is doing just fine and is as happy as any baby can be.  He was very excited and worked up when I came over  to take his pictures (I think he liked me…;o)).  He was very cooperative for a 6 month old and even allowed me to photograph him in a Santa Elf hat.  Hopefully he won’t be too upset years later when he sees those pics….lol.  And boy oh boy does he love his daddy.  Can’t you tell?

Here is a recent kids photography session that I did on Long Island.  Kids grow up so fast.  Remember when they were first born?  When they were first able to sit up by themselves?  When they took their first steps?  When they first said mama?  When all they wanted to do was just run around?  Well that is exactly what this adorable little toddler did as I snapped photos of him just being himself at the park.  I remember his Mom messaging me and warning me  how he was a typical two year old boy that loved to run around and climb.   No problem.  Because that is exactly what I expected him to do and exactly how I wanted to capture him.  Yes,  him just being the little boy that he is now  because he won’t stay two forever and these moments need to be treasured forever.

XOXO

Irene
