Maternity Photos in Central Park

You can never go wrong taking your maternity photos in Central Park. As a NYC photographer, Central Park is one of my favorite places to take photos of weddings, engagements, maternity and portraits. There are so many wonderful locations and spots in Central Park where you can take photos. Although some of the more popular spots can get crowded, there are still many little tucked away spots that are beautiful. So what are some of my favorite photo locations for maternity pictures in Central Park?

Favorite photo locations in Central Park

• Bethesda Terrace and Water Fountain. Almost always crowded (unless we start at sunrise), the Terrace is know for its sweeping architecture, both inside and out. Beautiful archways frame the photos and also allows for beautiful silhouettes. The stairs also allow for additional photo opportunities. Right in front of the Terrace is the water fountain and then the Lake. Bethesda Terrace truly offers a lot of variety for your photos. It is no wonder that it gets so crowded around here.
• The Mall Big tall trees all lined up on a long pathway. The Mall looks very picturesque during all seasons. Super green in the spring and summer, colorful in the fall and magical with a little bit of snow on the pathway and in the trees.
• Bow Bridge a cast iron bridge crossing over The Lake and used as a walkway, it provides a view of some of the city's buildings.
• Gapstow Bridge Another bridge that can be found at 62nd Street that offers some of the best views of the NYC skyline

When is the best time to take maternity pictures in Central Park?

Every season has something special to offer in Central Park. Therefore my answer is ......ANYTIME!

I would have to say that the fall and spring are my favorite seasons as everything is either super green, or super red and orange. The winter, however can be beautiful as well. Central Park truly looks magical under a light blanket of snow. Another added perk during the winter is that it tends to be a little less crowded.

If you are pregnant it is going to be really difficult to have too much of a choice as you can't exactly change your due date. Just feel reassured that Central Park offers something different and beautiful no matter what season it is. You really can't go wrong choosing to have your maternity photos taken in Central Park!
